Wow! What a great conference. without exception all the comments I received and heard through the day and afterwards were hugely positive. I hope that others went away with the same motivation and inspiration to action that I did.

This site has been set up with the following aims in mind.

First and foremost we want to provide a space where people who participated in the Transition North Conference (November 6, in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire) can make contact with each and continue the conversations and develop the plans and ideas that the conference sparked off.

Also the interest in the conference was far wider than the number of people that our venue was able to accommodate, and so this site is for those people, to engage with the issues, make contacts, and be a part of this initiative.

The people and organisations that came together to make the conference happen believe that this could be the start of an important new initiative - the coming together of the long established Cooperative movement and the rapidly growing Transition movement - to create exciting new opportunities for a sustainable future for all of us.

We hope that in some small way this website may be useful in enabling the people involved to develop the initiative further and faster than might otherwise be the case.
